I skipped a day!

The pressures of work … make that a long couple of days!
Started the day really early yesterday – around 4:30 am … thought I would get a “head start” on the day and use the extra time for myself … no way, Jose! My work day ended at 7:30 pm! *ugh*
Before I give you all the impression that I’m “stuck” in some boring job, let me tell you: I’m not! Yes, I sit at a computer most of the day, and yes, it gets really hectic like the workflow will never stop (and it really doesn’t!) … but I do love my job! I am a contract recruiter for a government contractor and the only one that they have in these islands … so you can bet that the situation can get pretty interesting. The rest of my team sits on “the mainland” – dispersed geographically from Washington state to Kansas, along the eastern seaboard and down to Florida! We even have people in Puerto Rico … 75 countries in all! When I consider the pros and cons of this job – I have to say that I have a GREAT job. While it’s a demanding, fast-paced environment requiring much flexibily, one can’t complain about telecommuting. One drawback: you tend to work overtime a lot!
A HUGE benefit is the need for gas for my car: approximately every 6 weeks for a fill up! But, the way gas prices are bouncing all over the place, I do limit my purchase to $40 for the 6-week period.
Other perks: no need for replenishing your work wardrobe … no commuting in traffic (or should I say “parking” in traffic?) … not having to deal with people who should NOT be on the road - have you SEEN some of the things that people do while driving??! Oivay!!
I thought about this project - trying to decide on a format or focus – still haven’t decide what form I want it to take. So, I’m gonna take it “slow” for now, neb around the tools available … maybe I’ll make up my mind some time this century!
Have a great evening, everyone … you’re over the hump!
Day 2

Here it is … 2nd day after blog creation … and I’m “exploring” tools, resources, etc.
That’s how this whole idea started – because I found Windows Live Writer on my new computer. The description for the application said it could be used to write on your “blog”. Well, I’ve heard of blogs … just never understood the need for one … till now. This could be a really nifty tool! In a way, this whole situation is amusing – I work with technology all day on my job and I’m soooo “handicapped” when it comes to blogging! (Memo to me: research “blogging”.)
I still haven’t decided what I’ll do on here. But when I think “blog”, I think about the movie “Julie & Julia”. Part of what I remember of that movie is how she would journal her use of recipes. I thought: “How boring!” … yet here I am! LOL
Feel free to offer content ideas …

Well … my very FIRST attempt at blogging!
I actually “found” my way to WordPress by nebbing through my options on a new computer! I thought about watchng “Julie & Julia” … then it dawned on me that this is a good way for me to stay in touch with family, friends and colleagues!
For any visitor, feel free to leave your comments … likes or dislikes - keep it “G-rated” because you aren’t the only “audience” on here … and if you have any positive ideas on building and/or improving this site, feel free to leave a post on here.
So … this site has been added to my Favorites bar in IE and a page in OneNote has been added for me to work on … more to come when I’ve had a chance to “play around” with the features on here!
Aloha kakou!
